What is Software development

Software development is a complicated process of conceiving, specifying, designing, programming, documenting, testing, and bug fixing involved in creating and maintaining applications, frameworks, or other software components.  It requires careful planning and execution to meet the goals. Sometimes a developer must react quickly and aggressively to meet everchanging market demands. Maintaining software quality hinders fast-paced software development, as many testing cycles are necessary to ensure quality products. A commercial software product is usually derived from market demands. Sales and marketing people have first-hand knowledge of their customers’ requirements. Based upon these market requirements, senior software developers create an architecture for the products along with functional and design specifications. Then the development process starts. After the initial development phase, software testing begins, and many times it is done in parallel with the development process...

Sony finally reveals the PS5 alongside next-gen games

Sony has revealed what its next-gen PS5 console will look like along with a bevy of games that are in development for the system.

Previously announced technical features for the console include a super-fast SSD drive that should improve loading times and enable more immersive open worlds and a 10.28 teraflop GPU that should vastly improve upon the graphical capabilities of the 1.84 teraflop available in the PS4.

But the exterior of the console had not been revealed until last night, with the PS5 sporting a futuristic, curvy design that can be oriented both horizontally and vertically.

Two versions of the console will be available at launch, one of which forgoes the Blu-ray drive - presumably to cut down on costs, although exact pricing details are yet to be announced.

Both the PS5 and Xbox Series X are expected to launch later this year, assuming that the coronavirus pandemic does not have too much impact on production capacity.

During its online reveal event, Sony showed off a trailer for Spider-Man: Miles Morales, a follow-up to the well-received 2018 Spiderman game that was released on PS4.

The PS5 will also mark the return of Ratchet & Clank in a new title called Rift Apart, in which the duo travel through different dimensions via portals, alongside a female lookalike of Ratchet – although the release date was not confirmed.

Elsewhere, gamers saw trailers from familiar franchises such as Gran Turismo 7, Oddworld Soulstorm, Hitman 3, Resident Evil Village, Horizon: Forbidden West, Sackboy: A Big Adventure and NBA 2K21.

Sony opened its show by revealing that the ever-popular GTA 5, which was originally released on the PS3 and Xbox 360 in 2013, will be getting an enhanced version for the new console while its online component will be made separate from the original game.

Aside from the console itself, Sony gave further glimpses of the PS5’s new haptic controller, as well as an HD camera, pulse 3D wireless headset, dual charging station and a media remote that all sport the PS5’s white on black colour scheme and curved design aesthetics.

The PS4′s lower price when it launched in 2013 gave the console an early advantage against the Xbox One and it ultimately went on to sell more consoles than its rivals.

Whether Sony intends to repeat the same trick this generation is unknown, although analysts expect the console to be priced in the £400-£500 range.

“With PlayStation 5, we are making a significant leap to deliver a truly new generation of transformative play experiences that will redefine expectations for what games can be,” said Jim Ryan, president and chief executive of Sony Interactive Entertainment.

“Worlds will be richer and more beautiful, they’ll captivate your senses in ways you didn’t think possible, and you’ll be able to experience them much more seamlessly, with lightning-fast loading.

“Today’s showcase is just a glimpse of what’s to come in the next generation, and we want to thank our community for taking this journey to PS5’s launch with us.”
